About Rankcomet

Rankcomet publishes rankings built from public statistics. Each list answers one question, for example which European countries get the most public holidays on weekdays in 2027, and shows the full list.

The site is run by Antonin, who chooses the subjects and checks every source.

How a ranking is made

The data comes from public sources named on each page, such as an open API of public holidays checked against each country’s laws, or the US Naval Observatory for sunrise and sunset times. We do the calculation ourselves, then publish the method and the CSV file used to build the table. Anyone can check the result or reuse the data, under the CC BY 4.0 licence, by crediting Rankcomet.

Ties share a rank, as in sport: two countries in first place, then the next one in third. When a ranking needs a tie-breaker, its method section says which one.

Updates and corrections

Rankings are updated when new data comes out, usually once a year. The date at the top of each page shows the last update.

If you spot a wrong figure, write to contact@rankcomet.com with the source you used. The correction goes on the page and is noted in the method.
